While the media have devoted tons of ink to the 2013 school closings in Chicago, this has been an on-going issue. This shows how a map can be created to show the community issues around schools that perform poorly and/or are closing. Map stories like this can be created by teams of youth and volunteers as part of an on-going effort to focus attention and resources on all of the neighborhoods with high poverty and poorly performing schools.
