Hometown:
Pietermaitzburg
About Me:
I am the founding Director of Reach Out with love, formally known as Reach out. I serve a community of 75 000 people on the outskirts of Pietermaritzburg in SA .
“Reach Out” is an organisation that aims to help children and the elderly, who are unable to help themselves. We are based in Pietermaritzburg, and deal with an informal settlement on the outskirts of the City, called France. The area has high levels of poverty and unemployment. Many of the children there are AID’S orphans and most of them are forced to fend for themselves. There are too many child reared households.
We would like to invite your members to join our facebook page, reach out with love and help us make a difference in the lives of the children in france informal settlement.
warmest regards
Melanie

Hi Melanie. This graphic shows the people you've connected with in this forum since you joined in 2009.  It's part of a set of social network analysis maps created by interns working with me for the past six weeks. In this blog article you can see a couple more of these maps and links to the report the students did. http://tutormentor.blogspot.com/2012/06/empowering-young-people.html

I hope you and others will take a greater role on the forum of bringing people together, sharing ideas, and working collectively to help youth serving programs grow in Africa and other places in the world where they are needed.  I've added a "member map" that you can now use to show your location on a world map. Hopefully this will help organizations who are close to each other connect and build working relationships.

Hi Melanie, I hope you'll use the ideas we share here and on other web sites to help recruit business and professional people, media and faith leaders, etc. from Europe and South Africa to join this forum, so there are more people helping all of us do the work we do with kids.
