About Me:
I am Hilda Kimath, Executive Director and co-founder of AKO Tanzania Community Support (AKO TCS), a Tanzanian community-based organization working with communities in Kilimanjaro, Arusha and Manyara. Our work focuses on education, youth and women empowerment, water, health, livelihoods and environmental sustainability. I am interested in connecting with people and organizations working to improve opportunities for children and young people in Africa and learning from others through collaboration and shared experience.
What do you hope to learn, or share, on this forum?
I hope to learn from other organizations and individuals working with children and young people, especially about mentoring, education, community development and building strong local partnerships. I would also like to share our experiences from Tanzania, including what we are learning through our work with schools, youth, women and communities, and explore opportunities for collaboration and knowledge sharing.
