Tutor/Mentor Conference Planning Committee

Tutor/Mentor Connection/Institute, LLC hosted Leadership and Networking Conference in Chicago every six months from May 1994 to May 2015. Conferences have not been held since due to lack of financial support, but we continue to attempt to engage people in on-line networking and idea sharing using social media and forums like this.  See More

Volunteer Recruitment Event Planning

Tutor/Mentor Connection began building master database of Chicago youth tutor and mentor programs in 1993 and created a public awareness strategy intended to draw greater attention and more volunteers and donors to programs included in the database.  Between 1995 and 2003 formal recruitment fairs were held at multiple locations in Chicago. Since then internet media has been used for this purpose.See More

What do you hope to learn, or share, on this forum?
I hope to share my journey as I learn more about how your organisation has worked, continue to raise awareness across private, public and voluntary organisations about your work and how it could be applied in the UK.

I am actively seeking opportunities to connect with local economic partnerships and explore ways of funding the amazing work that you are doing.

The Equality Trust might be another UK group for you to try to connect with.

Hi Nicola.

I don't know Tessy but hope you introduce her to the group. One goal I have from the Social Network Analysis group is to be able to show who is in my network so that others can know who I know, or have connected to over the past 18 years.  Without this it's almost impossible to recall at any given time who all these people are.

The names I sent you yesterday were just the result of me going through one set of links on the http://www.tutormentorconnection.org site.  If I went through all of the links I probably would be able to point out several more UK people that would be valuable for you to connect with.

I don't have the time to do this, or the manpower for the SNA project, but it could be something taken on by volunteers or interns from one or more universities.

I posted a blog article today showing OHATS growth over the past 10 years and included the video you're working on in it. Thank you.

I havethis link on the T/MC site. It has not been updated in a couple of years so I'm not sure where she is blogging now

Hi Nicola,

I'm browsing some of the links I host on the T/MC site and one is the YouthNet in the UK. I encourage you to include them in your research because you probably can borrow from many of their ideas and perhaps create a link that connects them to us.

Thanks for joining. I hope you'll help build interaction and collaboration on the platform. There's a section dedicated to OHATS where we discuss the meaning of each metric and talk about resources needed.
