T/MC use of GIS maps

The Tutor/Mentor Connection (T/MC) has  used Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and other visualization tools in its program support and public awareness strategy. Due to tech problems and lack of funds the Program Locator has not been working properly since 2013. What do you hope to learn, or share, on this forum?
Am open to learning all that I can. I am also trying to learn more about the power of GIS and Remote Sensing towards decision making, not only in natural resources management, but in uplifting the socio-economic well being of the under-previledged.
