About Me:
When deciding what career I was stuck between teacher and social worker. I knew I would love both, as they both would allow me to work with kids. I got my BSW and worked in child welfare. While I enjoyed being able to make a difference in kids' lives, the stress was at times too much. A few years later I was able to help kids in the way I wanted to - I did two terms with AmeriCorps as a tutor and mentor. I loved it but was limited in the number of terms I could serve. Fast forward a few years, and it seems I'm rediscovering my love of working with kids through tutoring and mentoring.
What do you hope to learn, or share, on this forum?
I'd like to be able to take the next step by creating a program where I live, connecting it with the resources that are here including people who have so much to give, but may not realize the opportunities they can offer right in their own community.

I have something very vital to disclose to you, but I found it difficult to express myself here, since it's a public site.Could you please get back to me on ( pollardjames96@gmail.com ) for the full details.
