About Me:
I am a reading interventionist, working with students having reading disabilities in elementary school. I also work as a consultant with individual classroom teachers and also with school dirstricts.
What do you hope to learn, or share, on this forum?
My hope is to expand into working with parents. I hope to work with those who have children in public school and those also those who home shcool.

I am the president of the Tutor/Mentor Connection, and host of this group. As you skim the pages you'll see that the focus is on building and sustaining comprehensive, long-term, volunteer-based tutor/mentor programs in high poverty areas of Chicago and other cities. I'm not sure that a lot of the discussion will focus on the issues you've described in your profile, but you may find the work we're doing something that could be duplicated in 'Texas.
