Richard, there are a number of sub groups here, and people from many places. I hope you'll bring your own network and use the ideas to help systems of support grow in your city and elsewhere.

    About Me:

Free lance "bridge builder" having fun creating public domain King/Chavez Legacy Teams and taking needed action steps toward like AARP for my age group, but 72 years young, is to be called: National Youth Union, but local in scope. A focus on neighborhoods of "Promise" with it's cornerstone the mentoring of such youth not but on a track to jail or prison. No need to create but one more good non profit but build on those like you so see value in mentoring, and service learning. My self using plaxo, and linkedin, along with facebook. Have interest in my home town: Chicago Look forward to learning more about what now exists and existing strategies for face to face networking beyond the "follow the money" show and tell conference's that network. I believe that it takes a lead stakeholder: I like that to be the Mayor and so see value on existing League of Cities so to build on within my own insights. Anyone who has interest can learn more about me through a google: The Grupo Amistad Vision.

What do you hope to learn, or share, on this forum?

I hope to share that it takes but one to so begin a local "bottom up" initiative: Youth Power! Use it or lose it. That the first higher education institution: The National Hispanic University is a great place for collective process to involve students, both HS and University in the needed new roles proposed. That the process is a invitation to those on this web presence to so share their insights and good idea's. Have my own as well to so share. My volunteer applied research is always a invitation and so hope to find new relationships and individuals, or new organizations to collaborate with.
