  Lynn,  the discussions on this web site share ideas for building and sustaining high quality volunteer based tutor/mentor programs in many parts of big cities like Chicago.  The blogs point to other places where we write about this, and host a wealth of information and ideas that people in any city can use for this purpose.  Houston has one of the largest public school populations in the country so its challenges are similar to Chicago.
