About Me:
I grew up in Cabrini Green in the 90's. I attended Byrd Academy Elementary and Walter Payton College Prep for high school. While growing up in Cabrini, my mother encourage us (her six children) to attend after school programs as she worked late on week nights to care for us. One of those programs was Cabrini Green Tutoring (at the old Montgomery Wards Building) and Cabrini Connections. I really enjoyed these programs as a lot of opportunities were not available to children growing up in the projects like myself. These programs aloud me to meet people of different ethnicities, socioeconomic status and with different careers and stories of their own.
What do you hope to learn, or share, on this forum?
Meet new people and learn how I can create safe and motivating spaces for underprivileged children.
