Hi Colin, welcome to the Tutor/Mentor Connection forum. As you browse around you'll see that I use this as a workspace to coach volunteers and interns who are working with me in Chicago. At the same time, I'm trying to use it as a model that others could use to recruit volunteers and interns to do exactly the same work but focused on other cities and countries. In a Network Analysis group you'll see how I'm trying to find ways to map the growth of this and other networks formed since before 1992 as a result of intentional actions by myself and a small group of people.  I hope you'll bring your own friends and help enlist others in this effort.

    About Me:

II am the founder and Executive Director of Assist Social Capital (www.social-capital.net) an organisation set up to bridge the gap between academic evidence for the benefits of social capital and its practical application. Together with Manfred Hellrigl, I am co-founder of the Social Capital World Forum (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Social-Capital-World-Forum-2011/156728331059268) which is a space for people using social capital as means to promote equality, community resilience and participatory democracy. For the last 8 years I have also worked promoting social entrepreneurship and social enterprise at Senscot - Social Entrepreneurs Networks Scotland- (www.senscot.net), where I develop a self-organising approach to peer support via social enterprise networks (now 24 across Scotland).
