Hi Robert, thanks for joining the group. Seems you're in Chicago so we ought to meet face-to-face at some point. The goal of this site and my organization is to support the infrastructure of non-school tutoring/mentoring programs in all high poverty neighborhoods of Chicago and other urban areas. This means helping programs get a better flow of volunteers and operating dollars, learn to use technology for learning, planning, collaboration, and learn to connect with peers via conferences and on-line forums. If we can help leaders stay involved longer they will learn more of the things they need to know about engaging youth and mentors. If they don't stay involved for more than a few years it won't matter much what they know. I hope you'll join in and help liven up the participation.
Connect knowledge, volunteers, youth and make a difference.

Robert, I'm hosting a mentoring panel discussion on Monday, Jan 30 in Hyde Park, from 7:pm to 8:30 pm. If you can attend it would be great to meet and you can expand your network of peers involved in this work. http://www.tutormentorexchange.net/images/PDF/jan%202012%20panel%20discussion.pdf
