Hi John,

Many thanks for the welcome. I'm highly delighted to be part of this "international" group, as you called it. However, given my lack of adequate knowledge of how the mentoring is done on this forum, I will appreciate your guidance on how to make the most of it.

Cheers

Victor

Hi John,

Aurelien mentioned that you wrote a comment to him. after taking a look I now see what the Google Translator can do. This will give me ample opportunity to keep in touch with all my French speaking friends. Thanks.

Thanks John,

Being described as a 'bridge person' is a sort of wake up call. I never really thought of it but now that you mention it, hmm. I have mentioned our communication to some of the 25 French speaking participants and I have begun handing out invitations for them to join both ned.com and the t/mc community. They already a good level of interest and you should soon be seeing those responses. The Jennifer Brea angle is another thing that interested them and I think some of them are beginning to search out info about her from the net so. It will be interesting to see what follows. I have myself made a commitment to learn French so I can communicate with those friends I have made in Ghana. This event made it clear to me that people need to learn the languages of those countries closest to them as they might one day meet. The confusion in trying to interact with somebody who speaks a language you don't understand and who does not understand your either, is not a very pleasant experience. One feels greatly limited by that single barrier. Once again, thanks and best wishes.

Wow. Right now John, I am attending a training in Ghana with 25 other French speaking participants from five different West African countries. I have spoken to three of them and they are interested in joining the ned.com. However, they speak only a spattering of English. Do you speak French? I think that would help in communicating with them. As soon as I have enough time I would upload some pics of the training. Nice hearing from you.

Hi John. Since there was a mention of ned.com in your most recent communication with Dan Bassill, I hope I'm right in assuming you were the one that awarded me 2 points on ned. For me, i'm slow in catching up so for somebody who is ignorant I guess that pretty much puts us in the same boat (don't ask me who controls the rudder).

Nice meeting you here again.

John. Thanks for the nice comment you made about my work on the Ned site. I do hope some of those folks join us here. I'm also active in some of the discussions on the http://www.socialedge.org site. It's a good place for those of you working in Africa to connect with some other international folks.
