To get started using this forum you need to browse the groups and blogs and see what is included and the way volunteers and interns have been helping. You'll see that most of the activity is between myself and people working directly with me to help support the growth of tutor/mentor programs in Chicago. You can take an active role in one of these projects, or you can help reach out to others in this group who are not active and help them duplicate what I'm doing but with a focus on their own communities.
If you are trying to get directly involved as a tutor or mentoring in one of the various Chicago area programs you can contact members directly and offer help, or you can use the Program Locator at http://www.tutormentorprogramlocator.net to search for programs in various zip codes. If you'd like to meet with me to learn more we can schedule a time.
Welcome to the Tutor/Mentor Connection forum. I hope you'll use your experiences to help us build a system that supports the growth of mentor-rich programs throughout the Chicago region and in other cities.
Connect knowledge, volunteers, youth and make a difference.
