Thanks for posting this. Lots of good suggestions, and many point to collaboration. This is the time for all of us working with youth to innovate ways our collective efforts educate donors who then join with us on line to learn more about what we...

Hope you will be a English teacher in Korea. I have no idea how many English teachers are in each school. When I was in high school, there were only few foreign English teachers. But things changed. Due to new education policies or something like that, schools have more teachers now. You'd better ask someone who knows about this very well. And I tried to find a English teachers' community but I couldn't find any. Feel sorry that I can't help you.

Welcome :) Nice to meet you. I'm glad to hear that you will be a English teacher in my country. If you have a question about Seoul or Korea, I'll help you.

Thanks for joining the group. I hope that through Public Allies we can not only connect more groups in Chicago, but can also connect with the volunteer mentoring and tutoring networks in Milwaukee, Detroit, Indianapolis and other cities. If we can enlist leaders from these places to build visibility on the same schedules as we do, and enlist their own leaders and celebrities as spokespeople, it raises national visibility for all of us, and leads to a national flow of private sector dollars and volunteers.

NOTES

What can we expect from the philanthropic community in this new economic environment?

Consuella Brown, The Woods Fund
The bad news:
• Don’t rely on government stimulus money – most of it has been or will be spent to plug up deficits.
• Foundations have experienced significant drops in assets. It’s serious enough that they are having to consider cutting staff. While foundations used to be able to fund staff’s per… Continue
