Volunteer Recruitment Event Planning

Tutor/Mentor Connection began building master database of Chicago youth tutor and mentor programs in 1993 and created a public awareness strategy intended to draw greater attention and more volunteers and donors to programs included in the database.  Between 1995 and 2003 formal recruitment fairs were held at multiple locations in Chicago. Since then internet media has been used for this purpose.See More

Thanks Marcus for sharing this information. If you can bring the Commissioner directly into this forum, or bring other programs funded by the city into the forum, we can all share ideas that lead to better support for all of the programs working with youth in the city.

Hi Marcus,

Thanks for joining the group. Have you checked the Program Locator to see if your mentoring program comes up when someone searches your zip code? If not, please contact Nicole White at 312-492-9614 so she can help you upload the info.

You also might want to ask Nicole to help you set up a blog that focuses just on your mentoring programs. When someone visits your web site from our site they see a lot of good work, but if they are looking to volunteer or donate money to an organization with a volunteer-based tutor/mentor strategy, they do not see that very clearly. A blog can help you feature this part of what you do.
