Thanks for joining this group. I hope we can connect what you're trying to do in Detroit with what we're trying to do in Chicago. I saw the Time magazine article about Detroit a few weeks ago. I lived in Birmingham for a couple of years when I was small (over 55 years ago). It was far different then than now.

I use graphics to try to communicate ideas and concepts.You are welcome to borrow them, and improve on them. This one shows how if we create events at key times each year, these can stimulate on-going actions that build support for tutor/mentor programs, sort of like the spark plug/gas explodes in a auto cylinder to keep the pistons moving. If you duplicate these events in Detroit, for similar purposes, and at the same times, the impact of this happening in multiple cities can create greater public response than if we were doing the same things at different times.
