I've been connecting with communities on Google Groups. Just found one focused on Africa Connected which members of this group should join if you're not already part of it. http://www.africaconnected.com/

Here's a resource called "elearning in Africa" that might be useful to members of this group.http://www.elearning-africa.com/eLA_Newsportal/uganda-country-profile/

This is a project that engages youth in problem solving.  http://www.idea4idea.com/index.html  It's focus is on Africa, so it might be a project youth from many of your organizations could join in on.   If you do, I encourage you to use the work done by internsworking with me in Chicago as part of the research you and your own students use for inspiration.

If you're in Ghana you might find funding or collaboration from the Sabre Trust at http://www.sabretrust.org/

This crowdmap siteis collecting info about technology hubs in Africa.  I encourage youth organizers to fill themselves in on the Member Map on this Ning site, and look for ways to create your own crowdmap to connect with each other and draw more attention and resources to your programs in Africa.

This is a resource that groups in Kenya might use. http://ihub.co.ke/uploads/2012/august/innovation_spaces_in_kenya.png

The map was created by this community: http://ihub.co.ke/pages/home.php

It's also a model of information aggregation that could be used to build a network of organizations working toward well-being of youth in the same country or continent.

I've had a friend in Africa contact me via email and telephone for many years asking for my help. I've constantly encouraged him to set up a blog or some other sort of web site that shows where he is, what he does and how others around Africa and the world can help him. He has told me he has to travel 200 miles to get to an internet point which makes my suggestion difficult. Today I saw this blog article about a way to create local internet and cell phone access. http://arstechnica.com/business/2012/08/how-one-man-is-bringing-voi...  . Are any of you aware of this? The idea seems to originate in South Africa.
