http://youtu.be/xyb8hYSZPN8  This video is one of a series created by Gene Bellinger to map systemic thinking. In this one he shows a process of "building a better tomorrow" which I support with the information I've aggregated on Tutor/Mentor Connection web sites since 1998.  Since there is so much information on the web sites, I createdthis map, to provide a guide that a learner might take through this information, at least to get started.   I think that videos such has Gene has created could be used to guild people through my own learning guide. I don't have the manpower to do this so seek interns and volunteers who would help.

Hi Kyungryul, It's good to hear from you.  Two new interns will be starting on January 8 and one is a friend of yours. I do remember your interest in basketball.  I hope the internship is going well.  I also hope you and others will make an effort to stay connected to me and each other via this forum and that you'll continue to create interpretations of the information and ideas so others will adopt  them in their own actions.

Hi, Daniel! What's going on?

I'm still student, but taking a semester off to do an intern at a basketball magazine. Do you remember I like basketball?

World is still far. I'm sorry that I should have paid attention about connection, volunteer, communication with others. Maybe, you are trying to close gap to connect with people in the world.

T/MC Internship was good experience. especially, the conference at June.

If I'm there, I would like to communicate with them again.

I really appreciate, and hope to meet you. Happy New year!

One of the participants at the June 7 Tutor/Mentor Conference in Chicago was a parent of a 13 year old boy murdered on a street corner in Chicago. I created this set of maps to show how parents and activist can use the Program Locator to map where violence takes place, and to mobilize community leaders to support the growth of programs that can reduce further violence. YouthViolence_stopIT.pdf  Young people in high schools and colleges could be creating visualizations like this to mobilize leaders and resources to support the growth of mentor-rich programs in areas with high poverty, and high violence.

When interns and new volunteers join me I ask them to do an introduction,  using graphics to show who they are, what their experiences are, and what their network looks like.  This Loyola University pageincludes six ePorfolios. Look at each of them, and the bio pages, to see how they use Prezi and other tools to introduce themselves. Perhaps these ideas can be used by some of you.

Mina Song used Prezi.com to create a visual interpretation of the Tutor/Mentor Connection strategy. Here's another tool like Prezi, called Vizify.  It's demonstrated on this blog.

This video shows government goal of increasing number of US students studying in China and other countries. We've had many students from Korea, China and India intern with us. Would be great to see youth from tutor/mentor programs going to Asia for a variety of exchange and learning programs.
