I've had a friend in Africa contact me via email and telephone for many years asking for my help. I've constantly encouraged him to set up a blog or some other sort of web site that shows where he is, what he does and how others around Africa and the world can help him. He has told me he has to travel 200 miles to get to an internet point which makes my suggestion difficult. Today I saw this blog article about a way to create local internet and cell phone access. http://arstechnica.com/business/2012/08/how-one-man-is-bringing-voi... . Are any of you aware of this? The idea seems to originate in South Africa.
I hope that all of you are connecting to each other in helpful ways.
Is this a group any of you in Africa are connected to? The organization is PLAN. Here's their education page.
This is a July 2012 event that I encourage you all to take part in http://imhouse.org/blog/africatownhall/
Today a forum is being hosted by this group in Africa that is being broadcast from Sweden. I encourage you to tune in if you can. http://www.skandikafrik.com/Page/Article/96
I'm updating the links library on the Tutor/Mentor Connection site and this is one site that may be of interest to education and mentoring groups in Africa. http://idd.edc.org/
There are already two groups from Africa on this map. I encourage each of you to join in and add your own education initiative. http://www.coolmeia.org/educa/cmtls/1/2
Now we are working on transposing our Robin Hood Brasil to Africa... you know our country have much in commom with Africa... but we on the begining, we need help from people that already have projects or contacts in Africa. We have partners in Ghana, Uganda and Kenya but we need sponsors.
