Yesterday I was honored to speak about mentoring, mentoring programs and the Tutor/Mentor Connection with Aliyu B Solomon, who I first met in this Ning group in the late 2000s. We've stayed connected since 2013, mostly on Twitter. I wrote about the conversation and provide a link to the video of the interview, in this blog article.
How many of you are familiar with the Bertha Centre at the University of Cape Town's Graduate School of Business. They could be building a library focused on Africa, similar to the one I host, focused on Chicago and USA. Such a library would include lists of youth serving organizations, along with maps and concept maps. Here's there website: https://gsbberthacentre.uct.ac.za/
Here's an article showing how Africa will have most of the largest cities in the world by 2100. https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/interactive/2021/africa...
It also shows challenges facing each of these cities.
I've been sharing ideas here for 14 years with the goal that you'd all connect and work together to build an African Tutor/Mentor Connection, with an information library that supports what people in different countries do to overcome the challenges they face.
Here's the link to the Africa Transformation Report, 2021 produced by the African Center for Economic Transformation. I hope all of you will read it and discuss it with each other.

Here's the link to a small school in Africa that I've been connected to via its leader, since mid 2000s. http://www.brakwainternationalschool.org/
The school needs a lot of help, including finding a way to bring it's message into on-line forums like this.
Are any of you aware of Knowledge Transfer Africa? The link points to an "about us" page.
Find a series of blog articles, written since 2015, like this one.
Here's another resource for members of this group. It's the Firoz Lalji Centre for Africa, based at the London School of Economics and Political Science. Its goal is to "forge new links with African scholars and institutions, and increase the visibility of Africa in the LSE’s teaching, research and policy engagement".
I've encouraged friends from Africa to create an Africa-based Tutor/Mentor Connection, filled with Africa-focused research and directories of youth serving organizations operating in Africa.
I found an article today that talks about some of the many challenges of doing what I have been suggesting. You can read it, and add comments in the margins, if you sign up for a free Hypothes.is account.

Here's a Brookings.edu report titled "Top Priorities for Africa in 2017". Are these priorities members of this group see as most important?
